Laois camogie club launches fundraiser to support Intermediate Leinster final bid

St. Brigid's camogie club in Rathdowney have launched a fundraiser to support their journey to the intermediate Leinster final.

The club recently knocked out the reigning Leinster champions Na Fianna, and secured their place in the Intermediate Leinster Club Championship.

This is the first time in the club's history to reach this point, with many Rathdowney supporters donning their purple and amber with pride for their Leinster finalists.

The recently launched GoFundMe fundraiser has a goal of €6,000 to cover expenses such as travel, food, physio, first aid and lighting for training on dark evenings.

"Our girls take on Naas of Kildare in the Intermediate Leinster final on November 17th which will be in a neutral venue, our third away game in Leinster," the club have announced.
"The team and management have trained exceptionally hard since February 24th and we would like to support them in hopefully bringing more success to the club.
"We are incredibly proud of our girls and the support we have received at all games throughout the year especially those in the Leinster campaign that have been over an hours distance away," they explained.
"All donations are really greatly appreciated and will go a very long way in our quest to be Leinster Champions.
A huge thank you to all who have donated so far, it doesn’t go unnoticed and is much appreciated by the girls and the entire club," St Brigid's finished.

Having launched on Wednesday November 6, the club have already raised over €1,500 within 15 hours.
