Ireland and Laois rugby star Alison Miller has suffered a serious injury play for the Irish Women's International rugby team during a game in Dublin.
The Ballylinan native was playing her 43 game fro Ireland when she suffered the leg injury just over two minutes into the game against Donnybrook on Sunday afternoon, February 11.
The winger suffered the injury when tackled in midfield while carrying the ball in the Six Nations International.
The game was stopped for several minutes and the Laois woman had to be taken from the field on a stretcher after significant medical attention.
Alison was one of just three players to have played in the Grand Slam team of five years ago to be still playing on the Irish team.
It is understood the Laois woman fractured her ankle.
Ireland went on to win the game 21-8.
