The Met Éireann weather forecast for the week that will mark the end of winter will be a real mixed bag.
Met Éireann says the mild, dry weather will continue for a time but unsettled weather is on the way with temperatures dropping somewhat.
Monday will be dry, with good spells of sunshine developing after a misty and foggy start. Maximum temperatures between 12 and 16 degrees, but possibly up to 17 degrees in parts of the west. On east and south coasts it will be a bit cooler due to onshore southeast winds.
Monday night will be dry in most areas, with some clear spells, mainly in parts of the east. Otherwise mostly cloudy, with a little patchy light rain or drizzle along west and northwest coasts. Patches of mist and fog also, particularly in southern coastal counties. Minimum temperatures 2 to 7 degrees, coldest in parts of the east and northeast where clear spells occur.
Met Éireann says Tuesday it will also be mainly dry, with any patchy drizzle along west and northwest coasts early on clearing. Sunny spells will develop, especially in parts of the east, but cloud, with mist or fog may linger along parts of the south coast.
Maximum temperatures 11 to 15 degrees, in light to moderate southeasterly breezes. Tuesday night will be dry, but cold in the midlands, east and north. Minimum temperature between 0 to 6 degrees. Mist and fog patches will occur also.
Wednesday will remain dry, with bright or sunny spells and light south to southeast winds. Maximum temperatures from 11 to 15 degrees. Cold overnight, with lows of 2 to 6 degrees. Mist and fog patches also.
The weather forecast from Thursday to end of the weekend looks like becoming increasingly unsettled, with some rain at times, mostly light and patchy on Thursday, but with some heavier bursts possible after that.
Becoming breezy or windy at times also, with predominantly south to southwest winds. Mild at first, but temperatures are currently forecast to fall back close to normal by the end of the weekend. While nights will be cool, no significant frost is expected.
