Laois Gardai deliver BikeSafe course

Gardai delivered a bike safety course in Portlaoise at the weekend.

This road safety initiative includes a facilitated classroom based workshop and an assessed ride led by an Advanced Garda Motorcyclist.

The BikeSafe course aims to highlight dangers on the road for motorcyclists.

Laois Roads Policing Unit delivered the BikeSafe program in Portlaoise.

“Motorcyclists account for a disproportionate percentage of fatal road traffic collisions on our roads,” Gardai said.

Gardai hope the course will help reduce motorcycle fatalities on the roads.
