Event takes place at Abbeyleix Library
Are you somebody who would like to be learn out to dig up stories from the past?
If so, a Heritage Week event in Laois called 'Digital Skills for Exploring Local History' could be the place to start.
Laois Historian Regina Dunne, will deliver the hands-on workshop.
"This workshop is suited to absolute beginners and those looking to expand their knowledge on resources for study of local
history. A selection of the websites that will be utilised are the Irish Civil Records, the Griffiths Valuation documents, and the Irish Census records. Other topics such as storing your research will be touched on," said the organisers Laois Libraries.

National Heritage Week is a nine-day celebration of Ireland’s natural, built and cultural heritage. Events take place from August 12 to 20.
