Portlaoise musical treat just before Electric Picnic

The Pantry set to host Steve Wickham and others

Stars from The Saw Doctors and The Waterboy are coming to Laois for a unique evening of stories and songs just before the Electric Picnic.

Broadcaster, Ann Marie Kelly is hosting a spoken word and music event at The Pantry in Portlaoise which centres around the theme ‘Songs that saved your life.’

The Waterboys’ Steve Wickham, drummer Graham Hopkins, co-founder of The Saw Doctors John Turps, Olly Cole, One Morning In August, and Colm Quearney will be in Laois to tell the story behind a song that resonated in their life.

The audience will aslso be encouraged to take part with a story of their own.

While an initial release of tickets has sold out, extra tickets will be released on Monday, August 21.

Subject to weather, Ann Marie is looking forward to welcoming everybody back to The Pantry Portlaoise on Thursday, August 24 from 7pm

Ms Kelly says there is a waiting list for any additional tickets and if you would like to put your name on the list simply email your name, mobile number, and the number of tickets you would like to admin@thepantry.ie who will be in touch before putting tickets on general sale.
