Portlaoise Tidy Towns committee have collected their €10,000 Community Champions Award from People First Credit Union.
The local Tidy Towns group received the award in recognition of their dedication to enhancing the beauty and sustainability of the community.
The Community Champions Award was introduced to recognise and support the outstanding efforts of local volunteers within People First Credit Union's common bond area of Portlaoise, Abbeyleix, Athy and Stradbally.
Portlaoise Tidy Towns stood out for their unwavering commitment to environmental preservation, community engagement, and impactful initiatives aimed at enhancing the communal living spaces in the town.

The walk, dedicated to the County of Laois and its residents, aims to empower individuals to actively engage in fostering biodiversity.
A spokesperson for the committee said: “Portlaoise Tidy Towns are aiming to produce a more sustainable town, and we are so excited to see what their future plans are!”
