Laois Open Door Theatre will stage the play at Dunamaise Theatre on Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9 at 8.00pm.
Laois Open Door Theatre got off to a “flying” start with a full house and standing ovation in Thomastown Community Centre, Co Kilkenny on Saturday night last with their production of “Flying Feathers” by Derek Benfield.
The audience were treated to a night of laughter which they thoroughly enjoyed and were left wanting more.
The play, which will be coming to Portlaoise shortly, is a full length comedy with a typical farcical twist.
It is set in the country residence of the late Rev Bernard Potterton who has gone to a religious commune in Scotland.
In his absence the new housekeeper has used her initiative in a “creative manner” and has adapted the residence to meet the “needs” of her male visitors resulting in hilarious confusion when Bernard’s brother Henry, a Chief Constable arrives unannounced with his sister and are astonished at what they find.
This leads to hilarious comings and goings and when Bernard turns up alive the household is thrown into further chaos, this production has all the ingredients for an unforgettable night of theatre.
Laois Open Door Theatre will stage the play, which is directed by Eadaoin O’Connell, at Dunamaise Theatre on Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9 at 8.00pm.
