A painting of the Rock of Dunamase was presented to politicians in Tennessee during a visit by Minister of State, Sean Fleming TD to strengthen the links between Laois and the US state.

County Laois is twinned with Williamson County and Franklin City in Tennessee since 2008.
This twinning agreement explores ways to promote trade, business and tourism and to build educational and cultural links between Laois and Tennessee.
"I was glad to meet with both Mayor Andersen and Mayor Moore on my recent visit and present them with silver cuff links made in Laois and a painting of the Rock of Dunamase.
"We had interesting and worthwhile discussions on progressing the links between Laois and Tennessee, including furthering economic and cultural exchanges.
"I look forward to strengthening relations in the coming years and creating opportunities for people in Laois and Tennessee."
