Summer time changes this weekend.
'Winter time' will commences on Sunday, October 27 meaning clocks and watches should be changed overnight.
The Department of Justice is officially responsible for announcing the biannual changes to the general public of the change.
Minister for Justice Helen McEntee would like to remind the general public that “winter time” will commence at 2am on Sunday 27 October 2024. Clocks and watches should be put back one hour at that time.

The purpose of turning the clocks back an hour during autumn is to provide people with more sunlight in the morning.
Winter time will officially end when clocks go forward by one hour at 1am on Sunday, March 30, 2025 when summer time begins.
