Laois County Council, in association with Laois Public Participation Network and long-term corporate sponsor People First Credit Union, is set to honour the heroes of local communities at the 15th Anniversary Gala Community and Voluntary Awards. This special event will take place on Friday, November 8th, at the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise, bringing together over 280 attendees.
Mr Simon Walton, Interim Chief Executive Officer, Laois County Council stated: "Laois County Council is delighted to lead the Community and Voluntary Awards. The Awards provide an ideal platform to highlight and to recognise the huge efforts of local communities and volunteers, throughout County Laois, and the hugely significant and positive work that they undertake.
"Community camaraderie, collaboration, volunteerism, respect and inclusion are the bedrocks of Irish society, and provide the motivation for local community groups and local volunteers to work together, to make real, positive, enhancements to our society. It is wholly appropriate that the efforts of these ‘can do, will do’ volunteers and community groups are recognised and highlighted."
The Awards celebrate the remarkable contributions made by community and voluntary groups throughout County Laois. All nominees will be recognised for their significant impact on their local communities, showcasing the dedication, creativity, and hard work that foster thriving clubs, events, and fundraising initiatives.
