An injured walker has been rescued off the Slieve Bloom Mountains in Laois.
The rescue took place on Tuesday, February 25, according to Laois Civil Defence who were on duty at the emergency.
Their trained volunteers carried the walker on a stretcher off the mountain down to a waiting ambulance.
They explained what happened in a social media report.

"This afternoon, volunteers received a call to assist an injured walker on the Slieve Bloom Mountains.
"The injured walker was treated by Civil Defence EMTs and Paramedics and transported by stretcher back down the trail to an ambulance crew from the National Ambulance Service (NAS)," Laois Civil Defence reported, sharing these photos.
It has been a busy tough week for the volunteers, who also were involved in the rescue of a drowned woman in Mountmellick. They also helped bring the victims of the Portarlington apartment fire to an emergency centre and to accommodation.
Their rapid response was praised by the public.
"Importance of having a high clinical standard to deal with any type of emergencies . Well done to all," one person said.
"Setting standards of excellence," another said.
