Circle K filling stations in Laois are offering participants of Darkness into Light free tea and coffee for a time on Saturday, May 10. The offer will run from 5am to 8am at Circle K stores, excluding Circle K Express.
Laois participants simply need to quote ‘Darkness into Light’ at the point of purchase to redeem the free beverage. There are two official Darkness into Light events happening in Laois in Portlaoise and Portarlington.
Portlaoise's walk starts on the Dublin Road, outside Portlaoise Prison College, taking a route around the town, gathering at 4.15am. Portarlington is based at Portarlington GAA Club near the train station. Both will have music, refreshments, and a chance to remember lost loved ones and connect to each other, gathering from 4am.

Darkness into Light is one of the country’s largest annual fundraising initiatives and provides an opportunity for people to connect with their local community and to bring hope to people who have been impacted by suicide. This year, Darkness into Light events will bring over 100,000 people together across 200 locations nationwide.
Ciara Foxton, Managing Director at Circle K Ireland said; “All of us at Circle K are proud to once again lend our support to Pieta’s annual Darkness into Light which spotlights the importance of mental wellbeing. Suicide and self-harm has an impact on every community across the country so it is vital that we show our support to all participating in such an important event and give hope to those who need it most. We hope this small gesture of kindness of offering a free coffee or tea, to everyone taking part, will help set them up for the day ahead after their contribution towards Pieta’s services.”
