A Laois interior store and cafe will remain closed on Wednesday in a mark of respect following the death of a staff member. 

Gràinne McEvoy, who worked in Hummingbird Interiors in Portarlington, passed away on Monday following a short illness. 

“As a mark of respect for our dear friend and colleague Gràinne we will be closed tomorrow Wednesday 27th August

We have a book of condolence in Hummingbird for anyone who would like to sign it you are more than welcome to pop in  

Thank you to everyone for your support to our staff, Ronan and I at this difficult sad time 

Rest In Peace beautiful Gràinne,” stated Hummingbird Interiors in an online post.  

Formerly of Bogtown, Cloneygowan Co Offaly, Gràinne passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family after a short illness. 

Her death notice states that she will be “sadly missed by her loving sons Aidan and Josh, parents Joe and Maureen, sisters Sinead, Josephine and Fiona, brothers John and Colm, brothers-in-law John and Mark, sister-in-law Siobhan, the boy's father Declan,nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family, neighbours and her many close friends.

Reposing at her sister Josephine's residence Bogtown,Cloneygowan (eircode R35 KV76) on Tuesday evening from 4pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Wednesday morning at 10:20am arriving St Mary's Church Raheen for Requiem Mass at 11am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery. House Private on Wednesday Morning, Please.”

Gràinne's Requiem Mass will be streamed live on.
