The Boil Water Notice impacting over 1,800 people in Laois has finally been lifted with immediate effect on Monday afternoon, March 9.
Uisce Éireann issued the notice on Friday, March 6 for any customers on the Lough Public Water Supply in Laois.
The areas impacted by the Boil Water Notice included Killenard, Garryvacum, Ballybrittas, Lough, Ballycarroll and the surrounding areas.
Around 1,872 customers were impacted by the notice.
Uisce Éireann said they put this notice in place to protect the health of customers on the Lough Public Water Supply after a micro biological failure from a single sample on the network was detected.

Finally, Uisce Éireann has confirmed that the notice has been lifted following consultation with the HSE and consistent satisfactory sampling results on the network.
Impacted customers can now resume normal use of their water supply for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth.
Commenting on the notice being lifted, Uisce Éireann’s James Joyce said: "We are pleased to confirm that the Boil Water Notice has now been lifted, and we appreciate the patience and cooperation of customers while our drinking water experts worked to resolve the issue."
