Two possible sites for a playground had been identified in Borris-in-Ossory, Cllr James Kelly told a Municipal District meeting last Thursday.
One, at the old tennis court, would entail safety issues because of traffic, he thought.
The other, near the Church of Ireland, was the preferred location, Cllr Kelly added
Chairman Cllr John King: “The Council is going to do a plan for the whole village.”
Cllr Brendan Phelan: “The first thing is that the community have to identify a suitable site (for playground). I am sure the Council will row in behind the community if they identify a suitable site.”
Director of Services Donal Brennan said Borris-in-Ossory Development Association, as part of preparing a town plan, had started consultations with the County Council on the provision of recreation and play facilities.
