Big spring clean in pipeline for Laois council HQ in Portlaoise

Laois County Council has big plans for council homes

County Hall in Portlaoise is in line for a major clean up this year.

Laois County Council ahs invited companies to bid for the contract for the soft washing of the building façade, courtyard area and the adjoining paved areas at the local government HQ.

The council says the scope of the work will included clean external area of the buildings and grounds that have become discoloured over time and requires cleaning.

Areas are to be soft washed are as follows but not limited to.

  • Facade of north and south office blocks
  • Façade of corridor between office blocks and canteen
  • Façade of council chamber
  • Plaza to the north of the main entrance to County Hall
  • Footpath and paved areas surrounding the building

The council wants surfaces treated with biocide.

Companies have until April 1 to bid.

Apart from housing Laois County Council staff, the top floor is also used as the national hub for local Government pay.
