A truck has veered off a road near a Laois town, forcing the road to be closed down today.
An articulated truck has crashed off the Cushina road near Portarlington.
The crash happened on Wednesday morning, December 21.
It was a single vehicle accident, with the driver understood to have luckily escaped injuries.
It is in an area of bogland near the Offaly Kildare border, and is the main road to Edenderry from Portarlington.
Laois Gardaí have closed the road down, until the truck can be lifted out.
Traffic diversions are in place.
The road is expected to remain closed for several hours.
