January was a month of celebration across the county, with numerous dinner dances taking place as clubs gathered to reflect on and honour their achievements from the previous year. The Laois Camogie team were also presented with their All-Ireland Final medals following a narrow defeat to Tipperary in the decider. On the sporting front, participation was strong at events such as the Great Heath Run and the Ballyfin GAA 6k, both of which stood out as highlights of the month. Portlaoise CBS were also crowned All-Ireland Basketball champions.
