A busy junction on the outskirts of Portlaoise has gotten motorists confused.
Laois Cllr Marie Tuohy has asked Portlaoise Municipal District to put clear signs and road markings, at the junction of two local roads in Derrygarron.
“This is the junction of the Ridge Road and the road towards Shaen. There is confusion among locals as to who has the right of way. There have been a couple of close calls and minor tips,” she said.
Her motion to the June meeting was seconded by Cllr Caroline Dwane Stanley.
The junction will now be examined and if the council agree with the need, markings and signs will be enhanced.
