Traffic jams take place in Stradbally, Laois at school times.
Traffic jams at school collection time in Stradbally are hoped to be eased in 2018, by a yellow box painted on the N80, the main street through the Laois village.
Senior Engineer Farhan Nasiem has confirmed that Laois County Council’s Road design section will include the installation of the painted box in their 2018 programme of works.
It was requested by Cllr Paschal McEvoy at the December 14 meeting of Portarlington Graiguecullen Municipal District, “to help alleviate traffic congestion at school times”.
“Traffic coming from the school can’t get out,” Cllr McEvoy has said.
His motion requested an update on the yellow box at the pedestrian crossing, in front of the church in Stradbally.
