Members of a Laois Macra branch will test their mettle at the Tullamore Show this Sunday, August 10.

Mountmellick Macra members  David Grehan, David Fennelly, and Paul Maher will compete in the National Farm Skills Final.

The Macra FBD National Farm Skills Finals take place at the Tullamore Show annually, with finalists who have qualified at regional rounds taking part.

Finalists are put through their paces in this national competition, where the teams will compete against other clubs as they carry out a variety of farm tasks.

Tasks include skills such as fencing and safe tractor driving.

"Wishing the very best of luck to David Grehan, David Fennelly, and Paul Maher from Mountmellick Macra as they compete in the National Farm Skills Final at the Tullamore Show this Sunday!" Laois Macra na Feirme said in a social media post.

"Also, a huge thank you to all the Laois Macra members working hard behind the scenes to help organise this event," they finished.

The Tullamore Show, also known as the FBD National Livestock Show, is Ireland's largest one-day agricultural event, held annually on the second Sunday in August at the Butterfield Estate in Tullamore, Co. Offaly.
