A Laois Macra group have won the farm skills final at this year's Tullamore Show on Sunday, August 10.
Mountmellick Macra members David Grehan, David Fennelly, and Paul Maher competed in the Macra FBD National Farm Skills Final, alongside fellow finalists who had qualified at regional rounds taking part.
Finalists were put through their paces in this national competition that was hosted by Laois Macra, where the teams competed against other clubs as they carried out a variety of farm tasks.

Tasks include skills such as fencing and safe tractor driving.
"A huge congratulations to the team from Mountmellick Macra on taking home the FBD Farm Skills Final title," Laois Macra na Feirme shared on social media.
"An incredible achievement, well done!".
The group also wished special thanks to volunteers and participants.
"Special thanks also to Thomas and Padraig - for judging today's competition; to Joe Molloy for supplying the barrels, and Maria Butterfield for her roller, bale handler and straw bales," they said.

The group also thanked the volunteers from Laois Macra who helped make the day run so smoothly.
The Tullamore Show, also known as the FBD National Livestock Show, is Ireland's largest one-day agricultural event, held annually on the second Sunday in August at the Butterfield Estate in Tullamore, Co. Offaly.
The show featured a wide array of events including livestock competitions (dairy, pedigree, and commercial cattle, sheep), equestrian events, home industries, inventions, vintage displays, fashion, and performing arts.
There were over 1,000 classes and a total prize fund of €175,000 up for grabs. Over 700 trade stands were in attendance on the day, with something for everyone.
