Fresh road markings have been requested to deal with a "nightmare junction" in Mountmellick.

Raising the motion at the December meeting of the Borris-in-Ossory / Mountmellick Municipal District, Cllr Paddy Bracken asked Laois County Council to re-mark the roundabout at the junction of Emmet Street and O'Moore Street as well as at Moll Rowe's Corner.

Laois County Council told Cllr Bracken that the budget for 2025 has been fully expended in relation to line markings. However, the council will consider this and liaise with Transport Infrastructure Ireland in relation to the 2026 budget.
