Man in critical condition after night-time assault by gang

A man is in critical condition after he was attacked by a group of people in Dublin city centre last night.

Gardaí in Store Street are appealing for witnesses in relation to what was described as a serious assault that occurred on Talbot Street, Dublin 1, on Wednesday night, 19th July 2023.

The incident is believed to have occurred at around 10.40pm, when it’s reported a number of persons attacked a man.

The man, aged in his 40s, was later taken to hospital. He is currently receiving treatment at Beaumont Hospital and his condition is described as critical.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information in relation to this incident or who may have video footage to contact Store Street Garda Station on 01 666 8000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

A garda spokesperson confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
