SSE reduces gas and electricity prices for customers for second time this year
SSE Airtricity is set to reduce its gas and electricity prices by a further 11.5% and 12.8%, respectively.
This follows a reduction of up to 12% already made by the supplier in September of this year.
The changes are expected to be implemented by February, 2024, and will reduce typical domestic gas rates by €157.07 and electricity by €219.29, with standing charges to remain unchanged.
Managing Director of SSE, Klair Neenan said:
"As a company we're stayed true to our word and we continue to pass on savings to customers at the earliest possible opportunity.
"We've also worked hard over the last couple of years to support our customers as much as possible, with unrivalled financial supports and protections."
In April of this year, SSE gave its customers a €35 credit after it decided to forego €8.6m in profits.
The company also said it recognises that this will continue to be a difficult time for many people and it encourages customers who are experiencing difficulties with their bills to contact them through customer care.
