Woman shares picture of Offaly parents in hope of reconnecting with lost family

A woman has contacted a local Facebook group in Edenderry in an effort to find some of her remaining family in the area.

The woman posted to the 'I'm from Edenderry but more importantly I'm from Fr Paul Murphy Street' page on Facebook with two photographs of her parents.

"My mum Nuala Cooper (nee Rennicks) was born in Edenderry and lived on St Francis Street with her brothers and sisters Con,Michael, Betty and May. My mum left when she 21 to find work in England. There she met my dad and had five children. I would love to be in contact with any remaining family," she wrote.

Her post sparked a lot of interest. One man wrote: "I'm a st Francis Street reared across the road from J Flanagans Hall. I remember the people you are talking about."

Another said: "Con, probably the brother, RIP, lived at Father Paul Murphy Street, as did his son Henry, RIP. His widow and some children still live at this address. Hope this helps."
