Arrests made over Creeslough explosion in which ten people died

Two men have been arrested by gardai investigating an explosion in Creeslough, Co Donegal 18 months ago which killed ten people.

Four men, three women and three young people died in the blast at a service station in the centre of the rural village on October 7, 2022.

In a brief statement, issued this Friday morning, gardai confirmed the two men, who are aged in their 50s, have been arrested for alleged offences contrary to the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997.

They are currently detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at separate garda stations in Co. Donegal.

The investigation, which is based out of Milford garda station, continues to be led by local gardaí in the Donegal division, supported by the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and other agencies, including the Health & Safety Authority and the Commission for the Regulation of Utilities.
