Popular reselling app, Vinted, is going to make its entrance to the Irish market to compete with popular apps such as eBay and Depop.

The app first launched in Europe in 2008 and has become a staple in the UK market and will soon make a splash on the pre-loved Irish fashion scene. It's planning to debut in Ireland on the 12th of November, just in time to browse for the Christmas period.

The app has has huge success in every market it has entered thus far. And allows users to sell and purchase second-hand pre-loved items. Mostly clothing items and shoes.

The Vinted mission statement reads:

"We want to show you just how great second-hand can be. Sell what you no longer need, or shop unique pieces you won’t find in stores. Vinted is open to everyone who believes that quality items should live long."

Especially as fast-fashion clothing seems to be taking a back step for more sustainable methods of buying and selling clothes.

From Vinted:

"Our Impact Report has proven that second-hand is better than new for the climate, for your wardrobe and for your wallet. That’s why we want to make it first choice for everyone."

Across Europe more than 2,000 people make up the team at Vinted.
