Man in his 30s rushed to hospital following alleged assault as Gardaí appeal for witnesses

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following an incident of alleged assault that occurred at Portobello Road, Dublin 8 on Wednesday February 18, 2026, at approximately 6.10pm.

A male (aged in his 30s) was conveyed to St James’s Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to contact them. Anyone who was in the area of Portobello Road between 5.30pm and 6.30pm, and who may have any information about the incident is asked to contact investigating Gardaí.

Anyone with camera footage (including mobile phone and dash-cam footage) is asked to make it available.

Investigations are ongoing.
