Trolley Watch has revealed 625 patients are waiting without beds at overcrowded Irish hospitals today (November 22).
The figures were released this morning by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO), revealing 514 patients are waiting in emergency departments nationwide with 111 in wards.
Thirty seven children under the age of 16 are waiting at hospitals including Our Lady's Children's Hospital Crumlin, Temple Street Children’s University Hospital and National Children's Hospital Tallaght.
Cork University Hospital and University Hospital Limerick are the most overcrowded around the country today, with 72 people waiting for beds at each hospital.
Almost 50 people are waiting at Letterkenny University Hospital, followed by 44 patients at Tallaght University Hospital and 37 patients at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital.
Several hospitals including Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore and Nenagh General Hospital are among the least overcrowded hospitals with two patients waiting at the former and just one at the latter.
Five people are waiting at Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar with four each at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown and Tipperary University Hospital.
Just one hospital - Mid-Western Regional Hospital, Ennis - is free from overcrowding today.
