A book of evidence is being prepared in the case

Man accused of burglary in Laois

Portlaoise District Court

A man is to face trial for alleged burglary in Laois. 

Noel Byrne (28) of 23 Riverbank, Poachers Gate, Carlow, is accused of burglary and trespass at Elland Road, Shanrath, Wolfhill on October 14, 2025.

Garda Sergeant Jason Hughes said the DPP had directed that the accused face trial over the burglary charge.  He applied to adjourn the case for a book of evidence. 

Judge Susan Fay adjourned the case back to Portlaoise District Court on February 9 for service of the book of evidence.
