Gardaí are appealing for information after a house was ransacked and a car was stolen during a burglary in Laois last week.
The incident occurred at Kyle, Rathdowney on Wednesday, January 28.
Gardai said the burglar or burglars gained entry by breaking a rear back pane of glass at some time between 10pm and 1am. They ransacked the house and stole a jewellery box and various items valued at around €1,000 before making off with a car.
The 201 OY registered grey Ford Fiesta hatchback is still missing and Gardaí are appealing for any sightings. They are also appealing to anyone who may have noticed anything unusual or who has dashcam or CCTV footage in the area.
Separately, Gardaí are also appealing for information in relation to an attempted burglary of an artist’s gallery in Portarlington. The incident occurred at Market Square, Portarlington between 5pm on Wednesday, January 28 and 11am on Thursday, January 29.
An implement suspected to have been a screwdriver was used in an attempt to gain access to the gallery. Although no access was gained, criminal damage was caused to the door of the gallery.
Gardaí are appealing for information and would like to speak with anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the area.
