A man appeared in court accused of having drugs for sale or supply at a shop in Portarlington.
Kevin Dunne (42) of 44 Ballymorris Manor, Portarlington, is accused of having drugs for sale or supply at R420 Supplies, Main Street, Portarlington and with the same offence at his address on February 3, 2026.
Detective Garda Pat Camon told a sitting of Portlaoise District Court that the accused made no comment after caution. He said directions are awaited in the case but there were no objections to bail subject to conditions.
Judge Susan Fay asked Det Camon how long it would be needed to get DPP directions.
“As long as possible, it is a sizeable amount,” replied Det Camon.
Judge Fay adjourned the case back to Portlaoise District Court on June 15.
