Sensational Indian festival returning to Portlaoise this summer

For the third year, a thrilling festival celebrating India and its people will take place in Laois.

Bollywood dancers and singers, delicious Indian food, sports and family entertainment will bring the sights, sounds, smells and hopefully the sun of India to Portlaoise.

The organisers of UTSAV Midland Indian Fest have built on the 2024 and 2024 festivals that attracted large crowds, both young and old, from across the country to Portlaoise.  See photos from the 2024 festival here

This year the venue has switched from Portlaoise GAA grounds to Portlaoise Rugby Club. It takes place on July 4, from 9am to 9pm, with admission free, and pay and park facilities.

Once again there is a warm welcome to the local community to experience it.

The organisers UTSAV told the Leinster Express / Laois Livewhy Portlaoise is ideal for their nationwide festival.

“We are delighted to bring UTSAV back to Portlaoise again this year. The town has always given us an incredibly warm and welcoming response, and it truly feels like the natural home for our festival. We look forward to inviting the entire community to showcase our vibrant culture, food, music and family activities.”

They confirm that the festival is even bigger this year.

“We will have more cultural performances, expanded food stalls, and additional family-friendly activities. We’re also working on adding a couple of new features, including a dedicated kids’ activity zone and interactive cultural showcases."

In the past they have welcomed Indian Actress Anna Rajan and Basil Joseph, a renowned film artist and director. and this year another special guest is planned, with their identity yet to be revealed.

The festival also reaches out to the local community, with Irish dancers and singers performing, and a local charity benefiting from the day.
