Crash on N80 in Laois resulted in two people being taken to hospital

Two people were taken to hospital following a crash in Mountmellick on Wednesday morning. 

The two car crash occurred on the N80 at Graigue, Mountmellick at around 9.30am and resulted in the cars entering a field. Gardai said “two cars collided. They ended up off the road”.

According to Gardai, a passenger from one of the vehicles and the driver of the second vehicle were taken to hospital as a precaution. Their injuries are not believed to have been serious. 

Separately, emergency services attended the scene of a car crash in Portlaoise earlier on Wednesday morning.

The two car collision which occurred at a roundabout on the Ballyfin Road was attended by Laois Fire and Rescue Services, the National Ambulance Service and Gardaí. 

Gardaí said that while an ambulance attended at the scene nobody was taken to hospital and the collision was soon cleared.
