Electric Picnic seeks licence for 2026 in Laois

A daily attendance of 80,000 is proposed again this year

Electric Picnic organisers have applied for a licence for this year’s festival in Stradbally. 

Laois County Council has put the licence application for the 2026 Electric Picnic out for public consultation.

EP Republic Ltd is seeking permission to hold an: “Outdoor Multi Stage event to be held at Stradbally Hall Estate, Stradbally, Co Laois to hold an outdoor multistage live music & arts event to be held on the 28th August 29th August and 30th August 2026 at Stradbally Hall Estate, Stradbally, Co Laois with low key entertainment on 27th August 2026.”

The anticipated number of ticket holders attending the event is 80,000 people each day. Early entry ticket holders on Thursday, August 27 would be limited to 40,000 attendees.

General camping facilities will open from August 28 to 31 and general campervan from August 26 to 31. Family campervan is from August 27 to  31 and early entry camping facilities for a maximum of 40,000 is from August 27 to  31, 2026.

Laois County Council said people can make a submission on the consultation section of their website. 

Alternatively people can send a submission before close of business on or before April 20, 2026 to the Planning Department, Laois County Council, Áras an Chontae, Portlaoise, Co Laois  by email to planning@laoiscoco.ie
