Portlaoise is set for a big night of darts as two of the world’s top players, Dave 'Chizzy' Chisnall and 'Rapid' Ricky Evans, are confirmed to appear at Coppers Nightclub on Sunday, November 16.
The event, organised in aid of Cystic Fibrosis Lourdes, promises an evening of top-class entertainment for darts fans and the general public alike. Both Chisnall and Evans are highly regarded on the professional darts circuit, and their appearance will give fans the chance to see elite players up close.
Chisnall was in action as recently as Thursday evening, where he took on Germany's Martin Schindler at the European Championships in Dortmund. Chizzy raced into a 3-0 lead, but Schindler finished the better of two and won a last-leg decider to seal his spot in the last 16 on a scoreline of 6 legs to 5.
Evans' last game actually came against Chisnall on Sunday, October 19, when the pair clashed in the Last 16 of the German Darts Championship in Hildesheim, where Chisnall won 6-2. The pair also met in this year's World Darts Championship at the Ally Pally, with Evans winning by three sets to two in Round 2 before eventually losing in the last 32 to Welsh star Robert Owen.
Alan Keoghan, who represents the PDC players, has encouraged anyone wishing to play to get in touch and secure their spot. Tickets for the event are available online HERE.
