Abbeyleix Vitality Hub & Pedal Vintage Durrow hosted a leisure cycle through the grounds of Abbeyleix House & Farm.

Abbeyleix Vitality Hub is a community initiative set up to help increase participation in physical activity. As part of Laois Heritage Week, it was a delight to connect with neighbours in Durrow to explore mutual cultural and historical connections by cycling through the old routes and networks within Abbeyleix House and Farm.

The cycle marked the 10th anniversary of the 1st Bulfin cycle, set up to explore Heritage on a High nelly bicycle, the brainchild of Hughie Sheppard.

Cyclists' visited the grave of Ancient Chieftain Malachy O'Moore/O'More where a short tribute to the recently deceased Hughie Sheppard was held. The Sheppard family also participated in the cycle.
