The Laois Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (LSPCA) spoke to attendees about volunteering opportunities and how you can help rescue and care for animals in our community.

"Laois Partnership Company's 2 Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) aims to support individuals and communities, helping them build skills, confidence, and social connections," said Cassia O'Neill of Laois Partnership Company.

"Volunteering with Laois SPCA offers people the opportunity to engage in meaningful community work,  develop a sense of purpose, and improve their overall well-being.

"Being part of a like-minded community that shares a passion for animal welfare fosters a sense of belonging and fulfillment, reducing isolation and enhancing mental health.
"The act of caring for animals is known to promote emotional well-being, providing comfort and reducing stress. Through SICAP, individuals can access volunteering opportunities like those with Laois SPCA, which not only benefits vulnerable animals but also empowers people by building their self-esteem, social networks, and connection to their community," Ms O'Neill finished.
