Potholes were repaired throughout the Portarlington Graiguecullen Municipal District in recent weeks, a recent meeting was told.
Independent Cllr Aisling Moran said some of the potholes that are appearing are up to eight inches deep.
“The roads are very bad after the snow and rain,” she told members of the municipal district who had last met in December. She thanked Senior Executive Engineer Philip McVeigh and the council outdoor staff for all the work they are doing.
Independent Cllr Ben Brennan said while great work is being done, more outdoor staff were needed at the council.
Mr McVeigh said pothole repairs were carried out at Crossneen, Ballyhide, Killeshin, Ardateggle, Aghaterry, Tolerton, Mayo, Kilgorey, Barrowhouse, Shrule, Hollymount, Ashfield, Ballinakill, Luggacurren, Orchard, Timahoe, Wolfhill, Crissard, The Swan, The Cuts, Bilboa and Money Cross since the previous meeting of Portarlington Graiguecullen Municipal District in December.
