Sandy Lane National School
A yellow box is to be painted outside a national school in Portarlington to allow traffic exit and enter the school.
The measure was requested by Independent Cllr Aidan Mullins at a recent meeting of Portarlington Graigcullen Municipal District.
Cllr Mullins asked in a motion: “That Laois County Council install yellow boxes on the road outside both gates of Sandy Lane National School in Portarlington to allow cars using the school yard to enter and exit freely.”
In response to the motion, Senior Executive Engineer Philip McVeigh, said: “Laois County Council will arrange for these road markings to be installed at the two entrances on the roadway outside the school.”
