Port estate edges towards taking in charge

Rosenallis couple settle their case against Laois County Council

A developer has advised Laois County Council that work would start on the sewerage pumping station at The Glen in the Kilnacourt estate in Portarlington.

Laois County Council’s Director of Services Gerry Murphy told Cllr Aidan Mullins that the work marked the start of the taking in charge process.

Mr Murphy added that more work would be needed to allow the council assume responsibility for roads, lights and other infrastructure in the estate.
