Volunteers are being sought for Laois Pride 2024 which will return in September for the third year. One way to get involved in the event, organised by the Midlands LGBT+ Project and Laois Pride, is to help out as a steward.

"No experience required, you'll be one of our pals in the pink high vis vests helping us direct the parade on the day, or with other bits and bobs. It's a great way to lend us a hand and you'll be supported by other volunteers. If you're interested, please email us at community@laoispride.com for more info," said the organisers.

Laois Pride Parade Day will take place on Saturday, September 7 starting at 12 noon at Laois School of Music. There will be a pride party and fun day from 1pm to 4pm with Drag Queen Bingo, live music, DJ, Kids area, food trucks and Market Stalls.

Also taking place that evening is the Laois Pride Block Party at Music Generation Laois in Portlaoise.

The event will be hosted by tv broadcaster Paul Ryder, and will feature drag, comedy, music and DJs.
Well known icons will be making appearances, with performances from Sing Along Social, Paul Ryder, Regina George, Liam Bee, Lucina Schynning, and The Wild Geeze.
