Laois leisure centres scoop outstanding national award

Laois Leisure Portlaoise and Laois Leisure Portarlington have been called 'outstanding' in their field

More than €700,000 investment in two public Leisure Centres in Laois

The centres in Portlaoise and Portarlington are set to reopen

Two Laois leisure centres have recently received awards for their 'outstanding' facilities. 

Laois Leisure Portlaoise and  Laois Leisure Portarlington received 'outstanding' in a ranking at this year's National Quality Standards.

The Laois leisure centres received these fantastic awards at the 2024 Ireland Active Conference and NQS Awards will take place on November 1 at the Killashee Hotel, Naas, Co. Kildare.
The leisure centres are now listed as 'outstanding' on the Ireland Active NQS Facilities 2024 list. This is the highest ranking achievable on this list, which ranks by 'achieved', 'exceeded' and 'outstanding'.
"Thank you to all of our valued members, customers and groups for your ongoing support. My heartfelt congratulations to each of the teams on achieving this accolade!" a representative said.
"This incredible recognition is a testament to your hard work, dedication and commitment to excellence. Your teamwork and passion for what you do have truly set Laois Leisure apart as the only leisure facilities in Laois to achieve these awards.
"Let’s take this moment to celebrate our success and continue striving for even greater heights together with our loyal and growing customer base as we continue "Working Towards a Healthier Community"," Laois Leisure finished.
The National Quality Standard Awards (previously known as the White Flag Awards), have been in operation since 2001 and are the only industry specific award for the Leisure, Health and Fitness sector in Ireland.
They are the most sought-after and respected accolades in the industry and awards across the three levels of Outstanding, Exceeded and Achieved.

The event is a focal point for networking, discussion and debate amongst the leisure and fitness community and its stakeholders in Ireland. Trade suppliers, expert speakers and guests come together for the day to network.
