Laois agri business donates life saving equipment to local first responders

A Laois agricultural business have donated life saving equipment to local community first responders.

Portlaoise Community First Responders have received a donation of an AED from Stephen Dowling in Dúnmasc Genetics.
This vital piece of equipment ranges from €1,000 to €2,000 in price.
"This very generous donation will assist our Responders with providing essential emergency treatment to members in the community who may suffer from a Cardiac Arrest," a spokesperson said.

Mr Dowling has also donated a Public Access AED to the Dunamase Community Area, which the group say will be installed outside of the church at the Rock of Dunamase.
"Stephen's generosity demonstrates fantastic community spirit, his dedication to the community could potentially save lives as well," Portlaoise Community First Responders said.
"We are very grateful to Stephen and all at Dunmasc Genetics."
Last week, the first responders group held a public information session to Portlaoise locals. The sessions taught how to use an AED and perform CPR.
