Eamonn Bracken Menswear first opened its doors in 1981, laying the foundation for what would become a trusted name in quality men’s fashion. A year later, Eamonn met his wife Bernie, and together they embarked on the next chapter purchasing the premises, expanding the shop, and renovating the living accommodation above, where they made their home for several years.

From these humble beginnings, the business steadily grew into a thriving menswear destination, offering an extensive range of formalwear, casual clothing, and footwear. A particularly valued part of the business has been its well-established suit hire department, renowned for helping customers look their best for life’s most important occasions, especially weddings.

Over the years, Eamonn Bracken Menswear has built a loyal customer base that stretches far beyond County Laois. At the heart of its success has always been a commitment to personal service, with customer care seen not as an extra, but as an essential part of the experience.

Proudly community-focused, the shop has provided employment for many local people, with staff numbers reaching up to eight during busy periods. Despite changing retail trends, demand remains strong for a traditional menswear store that combines expert advice with a wide and carefully selected range of stock.

Today, the business presents an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in continuing its legacy within the menswear industry or starting a new venture in a great location.

Auctioneer Matt Dunne states, “It is probably the best location in one of Ireland’s fastest-growing towns.” Its large bay windows and deep interior make it an ideal selling platform.

The adjoining residential door leads to a well-presented three-bedroom residence with two reception rooms overhead (1,000 sq. ft), currently used as a music studio, but alternatively ideal as offices. Parking is adequate in the area, as the town now has a number of municipal car parks close by.

For the investor, the property offers the opportunity for two commercial units with a potential income of €50,000 p/a.
