Uisce Éireann said every effort is being made to restore a full water supply as quickly as possible.
Uisce Éireann crews are currently working to repair a burst water main in Portlaoise on the Dublin Road and restore supply to affected customers.
James Joyce, Water Network Operations Lead at Uisce Éireann, said every effort is being made to restore a full water supply as quickly as possible.
“We understand how disruptive an unplanned water outage can be, and we sincerely thank our customers for their patience and support while our crews carry out these emergency repairs. Due to the location and scale of the burst, repairs are proving complex and are taking longer than usual. However, our teams are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore water supply to all affected customers.”

Repairs are expected to be completed later today (Friday, August 22). In most cases, it takes two to three hours after repairs are completed for normal supply to return. However, customers located at the end of the network or on higher ground may experience a longer delay as the system recharges.
To ensure the safety of both the public and our crews, traffic management will be in place and clearly signposted.
