Portlaoise Town Team wants your views on the health of the Laois town

An impression of what the Public Realm project could do for Market Square Portlaoise.

Visitors to Portlaoise, the town's residents and those who live in other parts of Laois are being asked to give their views on the town.

Following the publication of the ‘Framework for Town Centre Renewal’ in April last year, the ‘Portlaoise Town Team’ was established in October 2017.

"The purpose of this new Town Team is  to develop a coherent and collaborative approach to implementing town centre renewal in Portlaoise.

"This is a very exciting and new way of engaging the relevant parties of Portlaoise town to implement a plan for the future," said a statement.

The Town Team is made up of representatives from the following sectors: business and retail, local authority, residents, employers, educators, age action, heritage and tourism, Gardaí, charities community groups and local politicians.

Now, following the announcement that Portlaoise is to be a pilot project for urban renewal Project Ireland 20140, the team is surveying the public's view of the town.

"In order to plan for the future and know what we need to fix, we need visitors and residents of Portlaoise to have their say. We want as many people as possible to take part," say the team.

Have your say and be in with a chance to win a Rosefield Watch, compliments of Gerry Browne Jewellers.
