New social sauna planned for Laois town
Social Sauna and Wellness Courtyard Complex planned for Portlaoise
Plans have been lodged with Laois County Council for a new social sauna for Portlaoise.
A planning application has been submitted for a Social Sauna & Wellness Courtyard Complex by Sauna Social LTD on the Timahoe Road.
The applicant says the development will consist of an office administration block, saunas, plunge pool, cold baths, changing rooms, garden room, toilets, store room, carparking & ancillary site works including signage.
Outdoor saunas have surged in popularity in recent years, popping up across the county with more people seeking out wellness experiences offering some down time to relax and reconnect.
Council planners are due to make a decision on the plans by August 4, 2026.
